With the new eco-sustainable technologies under study, within 2050, a clear cut could be given to the issuing of the European aluminium industry, helping the EU to reach the targets set in the field.
Greenhouse gas emissions -66% and -21% of associated energy consumption, these are the data that will come from the use of technological solutions such as: carbon capture and storage systems or inert anodes.
The production of primary aluminium, or that produced by bauxite, generates 3.5 tons of CO2 per ton while recycled aluminium consume only 5% of the energy used to create them from scratch.
With the new technologies the CO2 emissions could be reduced by -72% and energy consumption by -23%, for the production of primary aluminium.
All this will be a great help for the environment and for producers and consumers.
